Labiaplasty

Labiaplasty is used to describe a surgical procedure that reshapes the labia of the vagina. This is performed when there is an overhang of stretched labia interfering with activity, and may be on one side of the vagina or both. Usually, absorbable sutures are used, and recovery is similar to that after an episiotomy from childbirth, with sitz baths and local wound care. Recovery in most cases is one week.
